1/🧵 So I’ve been looking at the new #ARM powdered Windows laptops and it seems if you are not in the US there really isn’t a 64GB RAM option.
- Surface #laptop, which seems to be one of the best options (form factor, screen, build) but the 64GB variant is only in the US store.
-
- Dell XPS is available with 64GB RAM, but WTF did they do to the function keys and fake ESC key. Hell no! Ain’t nobody got time for that!
- ThinkPad max is 32GB, and the screen is a dismal 1920 x 1200, why whyyyyy??

@npub1dc9…5t7a ahh that's just within R then? Yeh I need to be able to access it like a normal directory for other tools as well as R. Essentially all my project data is sync on sharepoint folders.

Can anyone please confirm that in #macOS that #SharePoint works and you can add it as a directory in finder and then access it via the command line like a typical directory?

Can someone from the #US please explain if I am missing something. It is really just a tick box about whether you use illegal drugs when filling out the form to buy a firearm? Like clearly you have gone in to buy a gun, so why would anyone tick yes. Is it really a self imposed check, rather than linking to gov/police sources?

Deli Dave; Every Friday a guy at the deli (let's call him Dave) serves me. I get bacon 🥓 for Saturday, our family's weekly burger night 🍔 Dave is a good lad, always friendly, however, his ability to count is sometimes questionable. Each week I ask for 8 pieces, and I get 8 +2 or 3. Now little does Dave know, this is brilliant, I have tried to stick with a suitable number, it’s not my fault there are a few extra in there. You can’t not cook them

I’ve always wanted to have more than just folders 📂 and file names 📄 I want easily accessible and viewable metadata, to group and organise files across projects. Add comments to files and annotations to pdfs without editing their contents. Anyone else doing something like this? I’m considering trying out #TagSpaces. I was also wondering whether you could hack something like this out with #Zotero 🤔

Ok, I’ve tried holding it in. #Siri is sooooooo frustrating!!!!! With the amount of engineering that #Apple puts into everything else, how is Siri sooooo bad!
Siri either
- doesn't know,
- doesn’t have a connection,
- tells me to check my phone for the result (WTF!!!)
- tells me that doesn’t exist
- performs some lucky dip interpretation,
- or just $%#*!& ignores me

What is your preferred style for naming directories and files, hyphens or underscores to separate words? I notice a lot of people use hyphens and one argument is it is easier to read, however underscores offers the benefit of a double click highlights the whole file name or directory name.

So I have set out a discrete colour palette 🎨 for visualisations involving agricultural seasons 🍂 🌸☀️❄️
It’s a subset of the colour-blind friendly palette from Bang Wong 2011, with predefined allocations to agricultural seasons. The colour associations are meant to be semi-logical (taken from typical seasonal colour associations), within the boundary of the palette, to enable more natural interpretation, without constant legend referencing.
