Können wir eigentlich mal aufhören, Lilium "Flugtaxi-Hersteller" zu nennen?
Nach meinem Kenntnisstand hat die Firma bis dato nicht ein einziges Lufttaxi hergestellt, und es ist absehbar, dass sich das so schnell nicht ändern wird.
Guten Alternativ-Vorschlag hab ich grade nicht (ja, das ist eine Aufforderung).
Ich fürchte, "FlowTex der Lüfte" wäre auf Dauer justiziabel.

Basically, if you evaluate remote user input as code, the remote user can execute code. *shockedpikachuface*
I would like to point out that CVEs define publicly known vulnerabilities in publicly released software packages. So if the guy/gal wants to publicly release their "example code" as a software package, they could get a CVE for *that*. But not for the code eval function they misused.

@npub19lt…qfjk @npub1mjj…h2pr No, it *is* necessarily bad. Salting only works with the complete password. Even a salted 1-character hash has only ~60-80 possible values that can be quickly enumerated.
Now, you could try to handwave something about secure environments, SGX, or something, but I doubt that very much.
I'd lean towards informing the relevant regulatory body that the site in question employs unsafe security practices, likely incompatible with whatever they're required to do.

@npub198t…hasj Nevermind the copyright, what about GDPR? You cannot just use personal data except for a specific purpose. And while I'd reluctantly agree that "using a weird third party service to record clicking a button in a web UI as 'I legally signed this'" might qualify, I don't think them then data mining it for LLM training can even come close to being allowed.
Or maybe that's what's "select" about the select customers? Only select those not covered by data protection laws?

@npub1sly…t8j7 BTW, als Realitätsabgleich. Ich hab da jetzt so eine Glasfaser von der Tante T. Die krieg ich aber mit meinem stromsparenden OpenWRT-Router nicht ausgelastet, weil die Scherzkekse da nochmal PPPoE drauf getan haben. Brauche also vermutlich jetzt nochmal eine andere Kiste mit CPU-Bumms/Strom.
Will sagen: Wenn man will, wenn man sich wirklich anstrengt, kann man auch Glasfaser sinnlos Strom verbraten lassen. ;)

@npub1sly…t8j7 Also, technisch gesehen gibt es nur eins was "Passkey" (Marketing-Begriff, kein technischer) ist: cross-platform discoverable WebAuthn credential.
Die darunterliegende WebAuthn-API ist aber rückwärtskompatibel und erlaubt alle möglichen Kombinationen auf den Achsen platform-bound, discoverable, user verification, und attestation, plus extensions, so dass auch ein "alter" Yubikey U2F damit geht (cross-platform, non-discoverable, user presence, opt. attestation, no user verification).

Den klarsten Dummfug-Indikator hast du aber weggelassen: "Der Bitkom erinnerte in diesem Zusammenhang an den Ändere-dein-Passwort-Tag, der in diesem Jahr am 1. Februar stattfindet. Dieser soll Nutzer daran erinnern, wie wichtig es ist, Passwörter regelmäßig zu ändern." 🤦

@npub1sly…t8j7 Ich hatte mal einen Nadeldrucker, ich glaube deutsche Firma, star-irgendwas?, der hatte eine Menüführung. Ohne Bildschirm. Stattdessen wurde das Menü auf Papier gedruckt und man konnte den Druckknopf rechts/links bewegen zum Auswählen. Dann wurde der gewählte Punkt unterstrichen und die nächste Ebene gedruckt.
Doom ist ja auch nur rechts/links gehen und auswählen was man erschiesst, das würde sich also anbieten ...

@npub1xew…392t I learned that some time ago with cafe au lait in my X1. The new X and T...s are 'thin' models.
In these new models the keyboard and bezel form an integral assembly which *is* the computer for all intents and purposes. All other parts, including the mainboard, just get screwed into the keyboard bezel.

Vergleich mit dem Wasser: In den 1990ern war der Wasserverbrauch so stark steigend (per capita, plus steigende Bevölkerung) dass massive Werbe- und andere Kampagnen eingeleitet wurden, die Leute zum Wassersparen anzuregen.
Der Effekt war dann dass in den 2000ern der pro-Kopf-Verbrauch so stark runterging dass trotz steigender Einwohnerzahl, der Gesamtwasserverbrauch runterging. Damit hatte das Netz dann wieder andere Probleme.

@npub1a5z…hcww There's this story about a Thinkpad support hotline procedure that's introduced as "You might think I'm crazy, but please bear with me" and then proceeds to instruct to first remove battery and power source and then to press the "on" button repeatedly, long and short presses.
Apparently it's the fast way to make sure that the Embedded Controller really *really* runs out of power and goes into reset, fixing a surprising number of sporadic issues.

Fliegen in Berlin ist mit der Flugverbotszone um den Reichstag etwas doof, und Tunnel im Berliner Sumpfland sind auch eher nicht das beste. Aber wenigstens ist keins von beidem ein Fahrradweg.

Das fängt ja mit den obligatorischen Tonnen CO2 an, wo selbst ich nichtmal eine Idee einer Einschätzung habe.

Für die Sicherheit!!! ist das aber mit ZWEI FAKTOREN gesichert. Also, SSH-Passwort *und* SSH-Pubkey-Auth!
(Allerdings hab ich Python, brauch also kein sshpass. Hab aber bei der Gelegenheit https://github.com/paramiko/paramiko/issues/894#issuecomment-965771210 debuggt und workaroundet.)

@npub1sly…t8j7 Ich sah neulich einen mobilen Espresso-Bereiter und war etwas verwirrt, dass der mir akzeptabel groß erscheinende Akku nur 5 Tassen à 50ml können soll. Stellt sich raus: Doch, 250ml Wasser 25°C->96°C sind ~20 Wh.
Ich hab das Gefühl, wir sind von der ganzen modernen energiesparenden Elektronik sehr verwöhnt was an Energie für echte Arbeit nötig ist.

@npub143w…pykj IMHO the main elephant in the room isn't the iris data, but the (im)possibility of the Proof of Personhood. The principal problem of any Blockchain "solution" is the digital/physical interface: Trust in the sensors and/or actors. Worldcoin is no exception and rather quiet on the subject. They just handwave about their secure hardware.
Any orb, and Tools for Humanity itself, has the keys to create as many PoP as they want. Which in general parlance is not what a "Proof of X" is.

Ich hab halt Unifi-APs mit dem HassOS addon und hatte auch vor das zu erweitern und bei Neuinstallationen zu verwenden. Hatte nicht auf dem Schirm dass sie die Kameras so getrennt davon halten.

@npub1sly…t8j7 Hmm, aber wenn du schon ein hass hast brauchst du doch keinen cloudkey? Den unifi-controller kann man lokal als docker-container laufen lassen und deswegen hätte ich halt *gerade* Unifi empfohlen, weil bei denen alles ohne Cloud geht.
