@npub16mt…pnwy I use the start-and-ask-for-tempfile trick (no need to stop the transfer, just use inprogress), but as you said that does require disk space.

@npub10ae…nlyc Why is it always with such devices that after power-on they go to a non-off state (here: 10%)? This complicates startup from power-save modes a lot, if it is even possible without flickering.

There is ongoing work on an embedded 802.11 stack written in #RustLang at <https://github.com/Frostie314159/ieee80211-rs>, and the author is soliciting feedback (eg. via <https://www.reddit.com/r/rust/comments/1dwszwa/writing_an_80211_frame_parser_in_rust/>). If you are familiar with embedded development and WiFi, please chime in.
Given that many embedded WiFi stacks rely on proprietary vendor blobs, this (and the #ESP32 Open MAC project it is related to) are important steps toward devices under control of their users.

@npub1upk…tcwy Better yet, I'm still looking for a way to say "squash that last change in with the place where I introduced it". If that was beyond some point (might default to "any remote branch) or there is no clear place where the bug was introduced, that's fine, but I spend way more time than I'd like around small typos finding out which of the 10 commits on my branch I introduced that in.

The new match rules of #OpenSSH 9.4 look like they'll finally let me use jump hosts only on demand: A `!localnetwork=2000::/3` condition on the ProxyJump directive for an #IPv6-only host should make direct connections used as long as I'm on a real network, and send data through a gateway on demand.
I'll try it out as soon as it's available on my system.

@npub1evu…uf5t @npub1llz…08cq I think my #IETF work could be eligible, but the scope is unclear to me -- on the one hand the type-of-contributions description reads like the "boring" everyday stuff (WG chairing, reviewing documents) is part of the plan, but the application form looks very project centric, as do the times (the "long term" parts are 6mo; that'd have worked for most of RFC9290, but that was the fastest doc I ever contributed to).
Can you help me reconcile those?

@npub1upk…tcwy I didn't look at it in detail, but given how cooked captures are a thing for capturing from any (more or less an ad-hoc format containing properties like which interface it came from), I don't see why something similar couldn't work for straces as well.
