So Microsoft Outlook provides an ICS file.
Where the description is encoded in HTML.
Word-HTML.
And each event has a non-breaking space as description.
Encoded in Word-HTML.
Which means, each event has a description with ~37kb size.
The ICS file contains thousands of events.
So to display the non-breaking space nicely we use ~38400 characters instead of ~600
Yeah! Makes total sense!

Sometimes that border needs to be crossed. Society is like a game with rules. But you can play "by the rules" as much as you want, when others just break the rules there is no fair game possible.
That's like the paradix of tolerance. Sometimes you HAVE to be intollerant to maintain tolerance...

Will there be not? Keep your own (and your sons) sanity. Use it as a learning opportunity for your son that teachers can be assholes too.
Been there, done it, didn't get a t-shirt....
Both kids learned a lot from such teachers. Just not what *they* thought....

as ::class can be used without the class actually being available, it is not really coupling. (see https://3v4l.org/jorQT)
Sometimes code needs to check whether a class is available or not and this is a valid way to do so even when the class is not available. Therefore it is not more coupleded that writing out the full namespaced classname as a string.

Talk to the client and make sure they understand that it is their risk! If they pay you for a transition and you find *that* along the way, they have to know and they have to decide whether they want to go the easy and risky way or the safer but more expensive way.
Definitely add some warning scripts. Though when its on shared hosting the hoster might already have some warnings. Check that.
And leave a paper trail.
