The only quibble I have with saying Boston is racist is that it fails to capture the surrounding towns. For example, Woburn.
Also, there are towns like Arlington who fought public transit coming to their towns. Racism fueled that. (Arlington folk harassed my Jewish grandmother’s family into selling and moving back to Roxbury in the 1920s.)

The Massachusetts Governor's Council is a powerful, relatively unknown institution. They confirm or reject all judicial appointments and well as commutations and pardons.
Stacey Borden is running for Governor's Council. She is a formerly incarcerated person who now runs a tremendous reentry program for women.
I know her. She's good people. And more importantly, she is a voice that has been lacking on the Governor's Council for its entire history.

Here’s an #AltText question that I vacillate on: what about colors? Obviously some blind people were previously sighted and so including colors in alt text is helpful to them. What about people who were never sighted? What makes for good description for those people when we’re trying to convey the variation and definition that color brings? Should we just use regular color terms because people know how to navigate those terms, or is there some different emphasis that would be helpful?

I and lots of other folks won’t boost posts that don’t have alt-text for images.
