one of my first experience of world wide web was at my mom's workplace. they had the complete NeXT assortment: cubes, crts, printers, keyboard's, mice, EVERYTHING IN BLACK (if there ever was a perfect goth-hacker hardware, its this). and with NextStep OS - a unix (was it Linux or bsd? they called it Mach - predecessor to osX).
and this was where the first browser (called World Wide Web) was created (by Tim Berners-Lee).

to me,
since I'm leaning more into depression spectrum,
getting up in the morning, having a coffee and breakfast, is already an achievement. and I write it down every day. It gets a check in the checkbox. I celebrate everyday that I'm able to get up. And that cheers me up. Despite all the horrible stuff happening in the word, AND in my life, I can have hope, I can have a tiny smile on my face.

bandwagon.fm tries to do something in this direction?
otherwise there is no federated soundcloud/bandcamp (yet)
to me, the closest is actually PeerTube - if you consider YouTube being a good platform for musicians, #PeerTube should work too 'cause it has pretty much the same functionality as YT (playlists, channels, player, comments), but it's federated like mastodon posts. so you can follow a musician with a peertube account from your mastodon instance and like/comment.

I'm leaving patreon soon anyway, but these changes are significant, and thanks to a book by Cory Doctorow (@npub1fdr…lvhs) - The Internet Con - I now undestand the behaviour by Apple is one by a monopolist, a Big Tech co that can just f*ck everyone cause they own a marketplace. apple is an evil feudal lord that has power over a huge part of planet's land and can just eat up competitors or charge insane amounts of money for a square meter of stall space. I hope Kamala won't interfere with Lina Khan

I understand it might be not within your resources, but it would be better (looking less shady) if user handles like @npub1t9g…uz0l that are following instances around would lead to a working profile page.
