Meanwhile, the SocraticEthics account representing Ukraine is calling for boycott of all Polish agriculture, not serving Polish customers and suspension of rights of Poland in the EU (article 7).

@npub12dp…rpxf @npub1y98…fhhs - we have to start somewhere. Free education started with 4 years of elementary school, before it expanded to 8 years + high school + uni in most European countries. And we could be making driving cost closer to the damage it does now, starting with ending free car storage on all public land.

@npub1y98…fhhs - free public transport is a good idea. Free motorways and free car parking are a bad idea. Tax what is bad for society, like driving, make free what is good and essential, like education, healthcare and public transport.

@npub1sfh…9gqj - the protest is over (1) unfair treatment of foreign truckers by Ukraine: having to wait 12 days for a Ukrainian permit to leave Ukraine, practically blocking the Ukrainian market for non-Ukrainians, and (2) Ukrainian truckers moving goods within the EU - this is illegal.

An example of #Unwalkable #GoldCoast, #Australia. I didn't plan my bike ride carefully enough yesterday. I looked at an old map and didn't see footpaths, but I assumed that part of a recent A$25 million redesign of M1 exit 57 in Oxenford was adding some pedestrian infrastructure. I was wrong. There is no way to walk from #Oxenford to #Helensvale here. There is no way to safely ride a bike either. Even the painted #bike lanes end. This is a people-hostile design in the middle of the city.

#Munich is getting 90 extra long #trains for €2bn (A$3.35bn, $37m per unit), deliveries from 2028.
#Brisbane is getting 65 trains (and maintenance), deliveries from 2026 to 2032 for A$9.5bn ($146m per unit).
Why are Australians paying about 4 times more than Germans per train? NGR trains are 146m long, The new Siemens trains will be 202m long. Don't know if the German contract includes maintenance.
