Guy, my son-in-law is a NC Highway Patrolman. He and other troopers are being deployed to the devastated areas along with numerous other agencies, but they are greatly hindered by the flooding, washed out roads, debris, no electricity, etc. Communication has been nearly impossible even for first responders. The terrain is treacherous. His law enforcement contacts in the affected areas say there are people that it was impossible to rescue as houses, buildings, cars and occupants just swept away with massive force.
