Thanks, Cliff 👍 I've been using Feedbro (https://nodetics.com/feedbro) to accomplish a similar task - collecting accounts from Mastodon, Bluesky, Threads, Twitter/X (until Aug 2024 when Musk finally stopped public access), etc. and categorizing them into folders. 'Posted info on here not too long ago to help people put their Mastodon account export follows into it (found the post & put it below). Surf looks more visually pleasing, but Feedbro does the job for me

Cliff, I read the Surf Webpage, but I couldn't tell if it was just like an RSS feed reader or not. Is it interactive - can you comment on items in the feed? Unfortunately, while Flipboard is nice, it basically reposts content from the source, so on Mastodon, if I comment on a Flipboard post from say CNET, the actual publisher doesn't necessarily see it. Flipboard is like Threads federation. On Mastodon, I often try 1st to connect with non-bot news accounts directly from the publisher.

I had a similar issue a month or two ago, but it went away. Maybe a hard reload of the Web browser might kick the code to work: [Shift] + "press the reload icon on the Web browser". Otherwise, maybe it just needs more recent posts from Bluesky to start populating it. I hope it starts working for you 🤞

Matt, regarding the Bluesky timeline, did you click the Home icon on the bottom left of the viewport? It opens a Home feed column. I don't follow many people on Bluesky, so it doesn't update as quickly for me as my Mastodon feed does.

No problem ✌ I'm happy you brought Statuzer to my attention. Every Bluesky account has a settings option to create an app-password. You can use your Bluesky username & the app-password to connect your Bluesky account to Statuzer. It works well 👍

Matt, I think I first noticed you mention the Statuzer @npub1wlm…gju4 Web client months ago. There's a beta Mastodon+Bluesky version I've been using for a few months since then. 'Works great! Cliff, you seem to be enjoying your latest purchase. My old Mac II, and maybe my UMAX SuperMac S900 clones, could be powered on using a hotkey combo from the keyboard. Do you know if modern Macs can still be turned on using a hotkey combo or is it necessary to physically press the power button? I've seen many complaints online about the power button being on the bottom of the new Mac Mini M4.

Although promoted on the Mastodon home page under "Not for Sale", I've already posted a global note requesting Mastodon instance admins to emphasize user content ownership rights for those considering joining Mastodon. Sale of user content / data is not in the spirit of the platform. Instances that don't abide by this ethos should be dealt with accordingly. Of course it's technically possible to scrape anything on the Internet, but Mastodon at least provides an ethical foundation.

Yes, I agree 👍 It's unfortunate many of the Alt Rock / Grunge lead singers from the late 90's and early aughts are no longer with us 🙏 I'm happy we got to enjoy it when we did! I look forward to hearing more tracks off of "From Zero".

I just briefly checked the docs and several of the presets set MP4 with AAC, so you're correct. I hope you can solve the issue because I was hoping to use Resolve on Linux also 🤦‍♂️

Can't you install patent encumbered codecs from a different repo? I think Bluefin is based on Fedora. I'll be upset if you can't, because I switched over to Fedora from openSUSE, and I could get encumbered codecs from packman for openSUSE. I haven't searched for encumbered codecs for Fedora yet.

If you can find a player with on-the-fly ReplayGain scanning, you don't have to set the volume tags on each audio file. I have it enabled on the AIMP Android app and I might have it enabled in foobar2000 on Win10 (it's hard to tell because things change when I switch between WASAPI & the default sound driver). There is a version of AIMP for Windows, so I assume it has the on-the-fly ReplayGain feature. You might want to check it out. Unsure if the players on Linux have the feature.

Right, and a lot of people only set up automated cross-posting from Twitter too. I wish they would have given Mastodon a legit try.
Hybrid have released a few albums in the past few years, but Wide Angle remains my favorite (the female singer on that album died in the past three years or so - I enjoyed her voice).
Unsure if they've released anything newer than "Black Halo" (I like it. Charlotte sings all the vocals.)
