@npub1ev6…nh08 In practice, the effect – if not the *purpose* – of this sort of requirement (e.g. work requirements for food stamps) in government aid programs has been to disqualify people from receiving aid. The moralism is used as an excuse for being stingy. "Oh, well they must not have *needed* it that much if they aren't willing to sling burgers¿/go through drug reeducation camps/etc".
It makes me angry to see that attitude in the richest nation on Earth.
