I made some burritos with plant-based hamburger crumbles. I didn't taste any difference with the taco seasoning and sour cream and cheese on it. And the texture was good. I'm concerned about beef, milk, chicken and eggs. I don't know about cheese. I can get pasteurized eggs, although I only use them for baking and heat is supposed to kill any bird flu. And my husband uses ultra-pasteurized half and half. I'm not depending on anyone to protect me.
Anyone got any thoughts on this?

A granddaughter has a birthday on Sunday. I had already made her an emotional support chicken, but her mama said that she wanted a Link from Zelda. Her mama didn't have time to make one, so I did. Her mama can make the shield and sword, cuz it took me all week to make Link. His head can rotate.

Another birthday coming up. This grandson collects rubber duckies. So, I crocheted him some and I had all the materials already. This pattern doesn't use much yarn and is very easy.

Whenever I'm depressed or in despair, I like to read No. 1 Ladie's Detective Agency. There's always a good ending. I love Mma Ramotswe. She's a good woman of traditional build and someone I look up to. There was one season of this on TV and I wish it would have continued. It was so good.

I have been doing some more reading on Alzheimer's and THANK YOU, I've found out that rummaging is part of the disease. My husband has been rummaging in the pantry and refrigerator. Sometimes he's looking for something specific and other times he just wants to see what's in there. At least, now I know. I just let him do his thing.

Today is my husband's 71st birthday. All he wanted was a coffee from the Human Bean. The youngest daughter is dropping by some homemade cookies shortly. I let the neurologist know that I hadn't seen any improvement with the new Alzheimer's medication that my husband is taking. His response was that there will be still be decline, but hopefully at a slower rate. So he upped the dosage. To me: working means improvement. To the doctor: working means he's not getting worse.
