That’s one part of the problem. Other parts include NIMBYs obsessed with their real estate values, mental health and addiction care being for-profit businesses, homeless people being depicted as inhuman and disposable, and an economic/political incentive to have a scary underclass around as a warning - don’t demand rights or protections or you could end up like these people.

Sometimes I don’t get how Judge Dredd predicts life, since some of the stories are obviously just comic book action stuff.
Then there’s stuff like Condo, which is great independently of the implicit warnings about the technical challenges of space colonization, professional jealousy run amok, and implications of letting amoral lying clowns like Elon Musk be in charge of building space colonies.

I don’t get to spend much time doing things I like these days - I should make more time for it, especially outside my house. But even though it’s a chilly rainy day in #dc, I got out for #indiebookstoreday and I don’t mind the rain or the expense. I’m lucky enough to not face poverty over this, so for fucking once I’m treating myself to a day out of the house.
