I’ve been in the #printing business my entire life. Thankfully I never worked for HP (I have worked for two of their biggest competitors, and neither did shit like this)
@nprofile…qz4x points out that HP charges 10k/gal or so for ink. I’m in a position where I know the actual cost of that ink - and holy f is this just basically larceny. Profit margin WELL over 90%.

You’d have to surely be clear it’s not abuse, but I’d still worry about the result. Will they actually get help or just moved somewhere else which might be underfunded in any case.
The care of the elderly is so under-resourced in this country 😞

@npub17lg…9uux I’m thinking of stuff that exists from the very beginning. All of: hand scanning, fast travel, ship combat, even outpost building.
All of those seem to have additional functionality (or apply in places and ways you might not expect), and very little is exposed to the user. You just have to mess around and find out.

@npub17lg…9uux my challenge with the game is trying to understand why Bethesda doesn’t tell you more about the powers you have.
It’s not that it takes ten hours to get good, you start with most of the powers you need (yes there’s a bit I won’t spoil in the middle) - but it takes ten hours to discover all the functionality you have because Bethesda decided to just let everyone find it on their own.

My instance has a pretty-small user base. I just wanted to second the advice about using fedi.buzz as a relay. It’s fantastic for both hashtags and instances.
Over about six months I ramped up to relaying larger and larger instances, keeping an eye on the bandwidth. This past month I extended to .social. It wasn’t too crazy on transfer but it really did wonders for content.

Been thinking about browsers and things...
The one thing which I do love about #ArcBrowser is outlined in green in the image below.
The fact that the webpage itself goes ALL THE WAY UP is something I love. Give me ALL the pixels to use for webbiness.
I've gotten used to left-side tabs now in #Edge, #Firefox, and (especially) #Vivaldi. I like them and I'm converted. Vivaldi lets you get really, really thin on the top, but not zero.
I don't like Arc's implementation of tabs and space, it's not my style. That left pane has so much wasted space. It's like it's made for a tablet.

Curious if the #media misunderstanding the point of #mastodon will ever end? We’re 8-9 months since the beginning of the bigger migration waves and I’m still constantly seeing “will mastodon ever succeed? Why is mastodon failing?”
We’re watching the media, in real time, have zero idea how to evaluate something unrelated to capitalism. Have we lost all ability to measure something without a quarterly report?
I want to start to organize these and make an effort to refute. Using something like #MisunderstandingMastodon is way too long and sounds like trying to make fetch happen but I like it.

The landing page at calckey.social has a bunch of mastodon instances scrolling at the bottom. I'm not sure what it is communicating. Yes, the scrolling posts look different than Mastodon. I get that.
The github readme does have a listing of notable differences - but what are the "differences" from? Misskey? I don't know what that is either. Is this a competitor to vanilla mastodon, or a competitor to micro.blog? The use case isn't immediately clear.

I was trying to think about more information which could be added - perhaps a “how do I watch this?” button based on location? May be a stretch (and requires location).
