Hey! People who are more knowledgeable about NVidia/NVK; has anyone said anything about Pascal support? I see some talk about Maxwell, which is older, but most of the talk is about GPUs with GSP as I understand it. I have an old Pascal GPU in a computer, which I would like to be able to use with FOSS drivers, but I have no idea where to check for progress. Boosts are appreciated!

@npub1ysu…2jyl Yeah, I don't see much of Solaris at all today, or actually at all. I grew up with Linux and "regular" BSDs (FreeBSD & OpenBSD, like God intended) so I might have a skewed perspective, though.
Did it die with OpenSolaris getting discontinued or is that just conjecture on my part?

@npub1wst…ez75 Genuine question; what's bad about it? I do most things via the terminal, but it's always served me well as a graphical file manager, but I'm no power user when it comes to those.

@npub1l3g…vu48 @npub1ygr…cg6z Could a backports, unstable or experimental kernel do the trick? They should track upstream closely and you can pin that specofic package to that release channel while keeping the rest of the system on #debian stable.

Finally repurposed my school laptop. It is now a dedicated #gameserver for my friends :BlobHajMlem:
Installed #Gentoo on it. It's quite a shame that I can't use it as a laptop as it has a quad core 10th gen i7 and 16 gigs of ram, but alas the screen is 768p on a 14" and the panel is unpleasant to look at. Oh well, I have no issue with my t460s, so I didn't need to replace it anyways, and I got to buy the school laptop for ~ €50 so it was quite a steal after all.
