Week #2 of #marathon training for #MCM in the books. Only 14 more weeks of training left 🤣.
Went out thinking I might make it to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, but had hit 5 miles when I reached Benning Rd. Will have to check out the lotus blooms another day. Besides the 82% humidity, overcast and 77°F was perfect for a run.

16 weeks until #mcm - the first marathon I will attempt to run.
For some reason this didn't seem that intimidating until I reviewed the 16-week training schedule my sister just sent.
Now it feels real. And I see just how much planning I'll need to do to make this happen 🤔.

River level is rising. Means one of our best waves to surf will be in for the weekend! 🎉
Curious how much higher the tide will go this morning. When it gets above the wet beam on the bottom of the seawall, that means it's going up a little higher than average. We're still 2 hrs from high tide, so we'll see.

New neighbor arrived in the marina today. I like the portholes and overall design. Odd that The Wharf prohibited similar barge-like vessels with a second floor from being built and brought into the marina in the past. Maybe there is a new process? Maybe it depends on who you know 🤔? Also ... the white siding is gonna get dirty quick with helicopter fuel 😬.
I've been told the owner is nice, so that's a plus.

I feel super negative about Google's approach to privacy (although I try to remedy this with the Duck Duck Go VPN). However, I've always enjoyed the flexibility of Android. On a happier note, I caught sunrise and it was beautiful once I got away from the marina and the grease.
I saw an osprey flying with a fish in its talons on the way out.
Also noticed there are 5 boats in the designated anchorage. The high number must be because of the high cost of slips at the Wharf (where many slips sit vacant).

@npub1yms…r4ej This was wild. Two military helicopters flew over the marina around 730am. That is normal. The wild part was the second one was in towards the seawall from my boat. I'm 2/3 the way down the dock. Helicopters always fly channel side of my boat. This pilot flew inward even further, about halfway between my boat and Hell's Kitchen. Then he made a huge bank turn over the marina before heading back down channel. Should have taken video, but you get this photo, lol.

@npub1cmg…rzd2 it's tough to start from the ground. But the most important thing is to start.
I'm here to support because I know there are a lot of people out there that need it. I went through a super rough 5 yrs with my last boss. They were very manipulative and shredded my confidence. I will never work for someone like that again. But I know and appreciate myself now more than I ever did before.

@npub1cmg…rzd2 lol, yeah I wouldn't want to be like those folks either. But what you're doing and why is different.
I was raised by immigrant parents who had the attitude of don't draw attention to yourself - be humble and keep your head down. Took me a long time to let a lot of that go. Humility is great, but we all need to believe we're pretty awesome people at our core, capable of amazing things (including not being full of ourselves 😅).
