Professor Boswell has such an interesting gender presentation and I think it probably has something to do with the fact that (as he points out) he grew up in a lot of places where seeming "queer" didn't carry as much of a stigma as it did in the US when he was young (and it still does, in some places. Don't get me wrong)

@npub1gmx…atcq that's actually a gross misrepresentation of what Boswell's arguments actually were, and he was actually right about a lot more than people want to give him credit for. I've been on a Boswell deep dive for a couple of months now.
