@npub1rky…0xq2 I have an issue where the screen of my iPad Pro (M4) does not turn off when idle if Ivory is on screen. Did not see any relevant settings. Any ideas? The screen turns off fine when in other apps.

@npub1yck…ujmw I was 👉👈 this close to getting an m.2 ethernet card to solve a problem I thought was with a Realtek NIC on a Minisforum motherboard. Was something else, luckily.

I already knew that the CCS EV car charging standard basically does IPv6 over powerline ethernet and uses something like SOAP calls for the charging negotiation.
What I did not know is that the spec also allows the charger offer the car internet access via the charging connector! I’m sure all cars have a robust firewall in place…

Netflix can now serve 100Gbit/s of video (so something like 12,500 individual 4K streams) with an appliance using 100 watts of power. That’s 8 milliwatts for each 4K stream.
Remember that number the next time someone tells you that watching a Netflix show is as bad as driving an SUV or some shit.

@npub1cmg…rzd2 I guess I'm super lucky in that I simply feel no FOMO about this at all! I mean, I'm missing almost all of the world's discussions by not being on Twitter, or Threads, or Bluesky, or Facebook. But I follow almost 500 people here and this is already an unhealthy time sink. So no more for me please!

@npub1cmg…rzd2 if you’re changing platforms and want to see how iPhone compares, I think you need to get the best one (14 Pro)? Don’t get me wrong, the non-Pro 14 is plenty of phone, but since it does have slightly worse cameras, CPU and screen, it’s not representative of the platform at its best
