Horses for courses. I am pro-capitalism and she captures my position perfectly. CEO salaries are out of whack and we need legislation to fix it. Market won't fix that.
On a similar topic: Boeing is a sinkhole and a singularly important company that cannot be allowed to become more of a sinkhole. Market won't fix that either. Nationalize it.
By the way, Airbus is 25% owned by European governments.

What do they imagine will happen once they start to "smash capitalism"? How will it be any different from what happened in the chaos of Russia in the '90s? Or the chaos of Germany in the late '20s and early '30s? Do they imagine these billionaires and their reactionary allies are just going to vanish while they design their new people-focused system?

I think idealism is great -- and a lot of people from that era haven't lost it, I like to think I haven't -- but we live in a dangerous time. Imagining psychopaths won't take advantage of earnest intentions is too big of a gamble for me. We need idealism tempered by pragmatism. This, as I see it, means gradualism, even in an era of profound climate crisis. Especially in such an era.

BTW, I agree that Boeing is an example of insiders betraying the public trust.

Yeah, they remind me of the Wallace Democrats of the late '40s. "Stalin is cool. You should stop giving him static." Idealism all too easily manipulated by authoritarians. Putin LOVES these young "progressives." They are cool with chaos and so is he.
Anyone inclined to disagree on a personal level with my assessment here is invited to provide recent evidence of their support for Ukraine and their direct opposition to Putin.

#Boeing is a case for nationalizing a big company, not for decommissioning capitalism in the US, which, by the way, would be a bloody, undemocratic, and irrevocably futile undertaking.
When people talk about ridding society of destructive/evil/otherwise maladjectival capitalism, what they're talking about is a coup. They never suggest putting any of this to a vote. There are plenty of authoritarian surveillance states for those people to go live in. Notice: inevitably, they don't.
