The waiting list for affordable senior housing here in Half Moon Bay hasn't opened in 15 years.
Yesterday it opened for one day. The line to turn in applications was down the hall and through the foyer and out the door. Just to get on a waiting list for 5+ years.
People near me in line were from Palo Alto and had never been to hmb. They always thought it was a hick farm town (it is) and beneath them. But for an affordable apartment they apparently can stoop so low.

Bay Area People: whete would you sell a car? I have put mine on Auto Trader and on Next Door. I have it parked in a conspicuous spot with a sign.
It's discouraging because there aren't really newspaper classifieds anymore, and the car dealers are really taking a giant cut these days. They know you have nowhere to go, I think.

I am the A$$hole. I can't grieve for my son's dad who died on Easter, who spent at least a decade plotting and pushing to destroy my life, and somewhat succeeded. My son and his half brothers are quite broken.

I observe DV in her future. I'm positive she knows, but is young enough and rich enough to believe he won't come for her, and if he does, it will be a mild thing she can live with. That's her power, he won't be able to gaslight her into powerlessness.
Which this scene clearly demonstrates would happen to any other woman but her.
