@nprofile…9y5a Is this song something you are planning to release or have already released? You just popped up in my feed thanks to a boost and I was blown away by the track in this video.
You see, every now and then there are tracks that just sort of hit the right notes and give me goosebumps, some might potentially call it ASMR. This is one of those. I love it. Would love to have the full track someday.

@nprofile…y6g5 hah! yes. The lisp effect is very noticable but the main thing for me is that not all "th" in English are the same. The (icelandic) Þ only accounts for a portion of them. Others are more similar to the Icelandic letter Ð (ð, eth). For example "The" would probably be closer to Ðe than Þe. So when I was reading your posts I was reading them with the "harsh" Þ which made words like "The" sound quite weird.
Examples of Þ and Ð words in English based on my limited english knowledge and my non native dialect. Icelandic words in paranthesis for fun and for showcasing the similarities between the two languages:
- Thin = Þin (Þunn)
- Thick = Þick (Þykk)
- Thief = Þief (Þjófur)
- Tether = Teðer (Tjóðra)
- The = Ðe (N/A)
- That = Ðat (Þetta)
- This = Ðis (Þetta)
- There = Ðere (Þarna)
...etc
PS: Oddly enough, there is a rule in Icelandic that says no word can start with the letter Ð. So seeing "Ðe" feels weird grammatically. But it does not make it in anyway less pronouncable.

@nprofile…y6g5 As a native icelandic speaker reading your recent posts here and on IZZZZI is tripping up my brain and is also making me pronounce the words that have Þ in them in a weird way as I read them in my head. I usually have to do a double take.
I love it.

I am trying to find a nextcloud host (or something else applicable) for offsite backups/access to my most valuable data assets like my family photographs throughout the years, and some of my art and what not.
Mainly thanks to to the photographs (RAW) and video we are talking about probably close to 2 terabytes of data. Is there any cloud provider that can handle that without breaking the bank?
Any recommendations?

Microsoft seem to be turning Windows into an AI hellscape, this might be the last straw for a lot of people and some of you might be considering Linux but making the jump can be hard especially in certain professional fields.
I am a professional sound designer, musician, and a game developer. I switched fully to Linux back in 2013 and have used Linux for those tasks completely since then. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about using Linux in those fields.
