What nobody is saying about the child welfare system is the impact of intergenerational poverty. All of these problems don't exist in their own bubble. Everything is interrelated. If you want a root cause of the problems it's poverty! Poverty causes stress, mental health issues, and physical health issues. Poverty is the problem.

So I want to create some content to teach #Linux #sysadmin stuff. I don't have a Windows machine as I'm all Linux but I'd like to create and edit some videos. What software is out there for me to do this? How do I create those videos that I see where the narrator's face shows with the slides? Geesh, I've a lot to learn. I also need a decent 4K video camera with a good mike. Is there a tutorial out there for making good YouTube videos?

@npub1fza…qg7t Short ban time at 1 hour for IP addresses that choose not to use root, admin, or administrator. Besides, all the offending IPs are Russian and Chinese of origin.

Project #fail2ban implemented on my cloud server! I currently have 101 IP addresses on that ban list and I have the list set to expire in 6 months for any of the bots that try to log in as root, admin, or administrator. That'll keep 'em out.

@npub1dhw…55mp @npub1mmf…eknq I know this sounds really, well, stupid and shortsighted on my part but I cannot help my feelings. I refuse to embrace AI. I will avoid it as much as is possible. I realize my Firestick and Android phone use it. But if that's it, I can deal with the situation.

@npub1gxj…vf86 Unfortunately, I don't have that luxury and I am going to have to figure it all out because I am writing a book on Alma Linux. Alma, being a RHEL derivative, uses systemd. So, I am going to be a busy man.

I have a love-hate relationship with #linux #systemd. On one hand it works well but on the other I am not impressed with its documentation. I am finding myself needing to write a custom service file to start an #Oracle database and am struggling. Guess I'll have something interesting to do tomorrow.
