Tinker, I checked it out the other day after seeing the battery can be removed. It's like $500 for a really decent phone. I'm done with Google shit after they stole a $1,000 P8 from me. *long story for another time*
They are somehow related to Nokia.
I was going to wait until more content appeared on XDA before I seriously considered HMD Skyline as a possible option.

The one thing I miss the most about DC214 meetings is that we would review Patch Tuesday and big patches from other companies.
typically people would have details on one or two of them, and we would discuss.
Journalist colleagues are just jelly.

Oh, I love Linux. I started using it as a child in the 90s, I think Red Hat 4.7. I really started to understand Linux in my Gentoo days. :D Nowadays, though, I typically use Ubuntu.
But I've taken down production servers by accident. Just sayin' I can understand how common users can 'Break the system'. But I've been doing some form of computer support for the last 21 years. I've seen a lot of crazy things :ageblobcat: and all sorts of users. Users will find a way, regardless of the Operating System.

I think you kind of explained it; there are a lot of options. What happens when you install packages from different sources that depend on different versions of the same library? Also, in Linux, there are very few safety rails. If you are root, not much will stop you. Ubuntu has a few safety rails to ensure you don't `rm -rf /*` but in general, it won't stop you from doing something stupid.
What's that Murphy's Law variation about users? Something like "Given enough time, an end user will find a way to misuse, misconfigure, or break any system."

I deleted my account back in the early days, I think 2009-ish
Sadly, everyone has a type of Facebook account; they create ghost accounts. All people with Facebook accounts and allow Facebook access to contacts, they map all that shit out. So they still have all these relationships. Countries have sued and won over these ghost accounts.
My only excuse is that I can't control my friends and family, but I try to educate them about this gross behavior.
The only reason I'm commenting is to ensure people understand that regardless of your account status, Facebook is still collecting and storing data about you.
If one is trying to avoid this, you need to be careful who you share your data with.
Some phones are preinstalled with Facebook and installed in a way that cannot be removed. Many applications share data with Facebook via libraries.

Protip I recently learned, chemically, you can break gold down into a rocky powder that looks nothing like gold so thefts won't understand your jar of orange\rust dust is valuable.
