Just realized that I don't think we've yet had any attempt to notify organizations of my daughter's name/gender change that went through without a fuck up on their parts. Typical red tape issues? Or deliberate obstruction?
Would be great if her new birth certificate arrived without problems and proved me wrong.

My mom (80s) just had her second bout of breast cancer in 15 months. She didn't get follow-up treatment the first time, just a lumpectomy.
In a very cruel twist of fate, this happened while she was caring for her extremely ill twin, who died about a month ago. Now she is grieving and also suffering from significant current medical trauma on top of a lifetime of it.

The roses snuck up on me! And once again the usually white roses are pink from all the rain.
Also getting some volunteer poppies and tons of volunteer Calla lillies this year. I've never seen them so tall and blooming; I guess they really love water.

It's very pleasant to do errands on a beautiful day after a ton of rain. Everyone is in such a good mood.
I've actually been experiencing notable niceness from people, to the point that the other day I felt like Bobbie at the end of "The Railway Children" when everyone is smiling and waving at her. And it wigged me out, because like many #ActuallyAutistic people, having people talk to me when I didn't know why was usually a bad thing and has a lot of trauma around it.

Another beautiful day, and we have daffodils coming up! I really wasn't sure they were going to work where we planted them. Of course, don't know yet if they'll bloom.
I had planted a bunch of random nasturtium seeds and am so pleased to have gotten an assortment of colors, including some of my favorite bi-colored.

@npub1yks…rgk5 Yes, exactly! And it's only talking about one segment of a very large genre, and rather unfairly categorized as well. (I haven't read Red, White and Royal Blue recently, but I'n pretty sure it has significant on-page sex.)
I suppose someone wanted a counterpoint to the "dark romance is alarming" narrative but this isn't it.

She's in her early 20s, autistic/ADHD/trans, highly intelligent, but isn't finding anyone she can relate to online, because it all seems like people who can mask and pass for NT.
