I'd come from a liberal arts background where looking up the answers was cheating
I still feel bad using other people's code, even though I hate programming, because everybody's going to know I don't understand what I'm doing.
When the truth is that being able to synthesize other people's code to do what you want is how you prove you do know what you're doing.

#FallFinishAlong update: Having discovered the benefits of blocking my shawls, I've dug out a whole pile of them that I never get to wear in California to see if I can do a little extra finishing there.
The stockinette ones, definitely. I've got an Age of Brass and Steam that really needs it. But most of them are garter, and I'm worried blocking them will make them less squishy and warm.
I'm testing it on a little one I made for a plush a while back, but does anyone here have an opinion?

@npub1qjr…kgt0 I did that repeatedly on mine, and it wasn't worth the effort to fix. So here's how I choose to think about it:
In my fantasy setting, a square grid is magically inert. You have to add lines or remove them, or weight some paths through them heavier than others, for them to do anything.
So your shawl is now significantly more magical than it was.
