Like many, I gape in awe at the beautiful, hand-crafted dice; the gemstone dice; the artisanally crafted, petrified redwood dice. I even briefly fell into the "zomg metal dice!" trap at one point.
You know what I want in my RPG dice? Legibility. I want to roll the die, glance at it, and instantly know what the result is. I want speed and efficiency. I also don't want to spend $100 on something I will have now spent so much money on that I'll hesitate to even use.

I go off on here about a lot of sports, but baseball is my game. I love it, and I've loved the Phillies since I got my first cap as a 3 year old kid. It's not lost on me that the Phillies only have 14 division titles in their 141 years as a professional sports franchise. And that I've been alive for 8 of them in my comparably short 44 years on this planet.
Tonight's division title means the world to me, because I can't take anything this team does for granted.
