The other day I was chatting with my new physiotherapist (the one for my jaw) and he asked me what I do when lying in bed having LongCovid. So one of the things I mentioned was editing wikipedia.
This guy did not know that anyone could edit wikipedia. Huh. how.
He also didn't seem to use it, like, at all. I know I use wikipedia a lot, compared to average, I guess. But not at all? Do people not look shit up?

No one asked, but these are the rules female gymnasts must follow regarding their clothing.
It's fucking ridiculously sexist. The neckline must be "proper" aka not to low, but the leg cut can't be horizontal.
They are allowed to wear a unitard, but that is very uncommon, which I find sad. Also the whole team has to wear the same outfit, so they do have to agree and ask for unitards together.

Need to complain about the lack of Arabic inclusion in software again.
Context: we call our numerals "Arabic" but it's ✨ complicated ✨ so for this post I'll use the terms "western" vs "eastern".
As you can see in the image, these numbers are not the same as ours, there are clearly similarities but surely also differences.
So what I want is a second clock on my phone to see the time in Arabic, to practice. (Everyone who's ever learned a language knows that numbers are hard!)
You'd think that this is available. Digital clock, android, widget, these Eastern Arabic numerals.

The other day, my dermatologist gave me repairing cream to put on eczema scratch wounds. I've been using it for two days now and I can say it indeed accelerates healing. It *also* itches, so I scratch more. Ultimate balance tbd.

Mild migraine day.
Probably due to something I ate.
What I usually say: I'm allergic to apples.
What I actually mean: Apples trigger migraine for me. Medically speaking, migraine triggers and allergies aren't the same.
What a mild migraine is for me: If I push really hard on a specific spot in my neck, like uncomfortably hard, the migraine stops. When I let go it starts again.
So in short. I had a salad covered in apple vinegar and now my neck hurts.

I once lived in house with a turtle. He belonged to the landlord actually, but the turtle had lived in that garden since forever, so landlord didn't want to move him. We didn't have to take care of him, although he loved getting watermelon in summer. Very cute. We called him Frankie. He was probably 75 years old!

There is so much information on twitter that's gonna be lost forever.
In my case: LongCovid.
I still discover accounts with megathreads that are so, so useful. Even research from 2021 that isn't mainstream yet, that helps me to explain my symptoms to my doctor, that might get her to understand the dynamics better. And there's already so many deleted accounts and links that stopped working. For a person with LongCovid desperate to find info, it's heartbreaking to experience this.
It's all funny to see the fascists sink, and it's nice to build up a new (and way better and kinder) network here, but please realise it's also painful for some people to go through this.

🌻 Improve the accessibility of your bar by putting pictures online 🌻
If you work at a bar/restaurant or know someone who does, please know that accessibility also means information, and some info can be VERY easy to provide. You have instagram? Put a few pictures of your place there, the chairs, the tables, the entrance, the lighting... I see accounts full of food pics and hip crowds and yes that's nice but I want to know what type of chairs you have. Even more so for the pics on google maps. It doesn't have to be a "boring" picture btw, you could totally take a picture of your cute bartender, while also making sure your seating situation is clearly visible. No one is gonna know :)
