Whoa! #Taiwan is getting (back) 3 additional public holidays for the second half of the year.
• Confucius' Birthday (a.k.a. Teachers' Day: Sept 28)
• Taiwan Retrocession Day (Oct 25)
• Constitution Day (a.k.a. Christmas: Dec 25)
I always thought Taiwan's public holidays were too concentrated in H1, and it felt like there was barely any break in H2. This will balance things out a bit.

I detest the fact that "generative AI" is ruining "AI" as a whole.
Your robovacuum is AI. Models for making weather forecast are AI. The "auto reheat" button on my microwave oven is AI. Protein folding models are AI. The swipe keyboard on my phone is AI.
Not all AI is an energy hog, or disrespectful of other people's IP, or targeting unsuspecting public for profit, or capable of creating tons of slop and misinformation.

One pair of NT$308 (US$9.54/€8.37/£7.11) replacement earpads later, my 7-year-old Sony headphones are like new once again!
I replace the earpads every 2 years or so. This time I got ones with cooling gel inside so hopefully I'll be less sweaty wearing them.
The pleather for my older pair of earpads started peeling six months ago. This simple replacement saved me NT$10,400 (US$322/€283/£240) for having to buy the latest model of their wireless noise canceling headphones.

It's been years since I follow chart shows on the radio, and I miss discovering new music. So I am starting @nprofile…plcq to give myself a fix.
Think of it as your good ol' chart show on music stations, but rather than a traditional countdown of a single chart, it goes sideways across pop music charts in 40+ countries, sampling songs by homegrown artists, one country at a time.
