Ok, “watching the Tory party implode like a submarine full of billionaires” has given me my second UK election belly laugh today, and I haven’t even been awake for 30 mins.
I really hope this sets the trend for today - we’re barely a third of the way through seats being declared so far.

By classing the sustainability info as confidential info, and by presenting this as a beta, I feel like there would be less public discourse about this than there would be otherwise, and we've been looking for meaningful sustainability reporting from Fastly for a while.
You can see the issue here where I’ve added what I could find before, but I get the impression that at least SOME of their datacentres must run on a clean energy on an annual basis now.
Is this true?

I've added a couple of pics to this post, and while I don’t love the classification of this as Confidential Information, the rest seems fairly sensible at first glance.
It's interesting as Cloudflare only shows you *what you save* by using them, which feels like a bit of a weak sauce and greenwashy way to talk about this subject. I think undermines what work they DO do there.

Dear carbon curious fediverse ppl: we don’t use Fastly at present where I work, but their recent announcement of a free tier had a couple of interesting things I'd appreciate some help learning more about.
First, here's the link to the free plan - Cloudflare style CDN service, but without the problematic policies around hosting some *extremely* questionable content - huzzah!

Ah, this linked post refers to NVIDIA sharing their own revenue figure, for a figure that is sort of close to 50bn.
They’re also curious about how the 3bn figure was worked out too…

I have seen this post shared by a number of people, but I cannot find the source nor how people define “AI industry”here or even what counts as AI revenue here.
If you have seen how this 3 billion figure was worked out, would you share a link?
I have looked on Horace Didiu’s website, and there is no further information on that other cursed site we used to use.
Note: It’s okay to not reply with your hot take about AI - I am not asking for that.

This is an industrial designed exercise bike from Lithuania that can store 2KWh of electricity generated by your own exercise.
The electricity can then be used for loads of stuff - it has a bunch of DC outputs, like USB-C (up to 60W) and USB-A, and AC outputs (can output up to 2KW - enough for an oven!)
It can also be fed from a solar panel, or the mains.
It’s about 3K EUR, so not much more than a high end Peloton , but obvs serving a *very* different market…
