One downside with using knots on my lightning node is that it slightly underestimates the current fee rates…
Good thing I always set them manually anyway. Any way to accept all txns into the knots mempool but just not broadcast all of them?

accidentally installed alby hub on both casaos and umbrel, then the umbrel dashboard became unreachable. Probably the docker containers got confused/overwritten or have the same names so the launcher script wouldnt run past some initial check.
Not doing that again.
Besides that, its great! Will probably test and play around for a few days before starting the node just to see if I come up with other bugs. Probably really bothersome to update the umbrel version, but I probably wont ever need to... ?

Want to #asknostr if anyone has any strong opinions on their own lnd/bitcoin setup. Should I stick with Umbrel and update to 1.0+ on their custom OS, or should I try start9, or is there another service that bundles those applications? I previously had Umbrel 0.5.4 on an Ubuntu desktop I run.
From what I can tell, Umbrel still has the most extensive library, but its also the hardest to mod. I also liked having the desktop functionality so I could run other non-umbrel stuff (why I never updated to their 1.0+ custom OS). Anyone have any issues running their node within a VM (or if it can be done with a single docker container)?
Don't want to redo this twice, so i want to have a good think before I start.

Nothing beats it when it works, but I wouldn’t want those feelings of anxiety and doubt on anyone.

I'd like to #asknostr for any good podcast recommendations? I find myself blowing through 5+ hours a day easy and Im starting to value the ones I do subscribe to less, so I am running low on good content.
Im pretty tired of politics/news podcasts, but they are the ones that have the most frequent daily content. Bitcoin shows are also generally getting stale, but I curate those based on the guests/topic now more than anything now.
I love audiobooks (a nice collection on a home server), but my programming/working brain does prefer digesting conversational talking as opposed to 20+ hour complex/jumping narratives.
Anything good with lots of volume/hours? If the content is evergreen, I'd be fine to go down an old catalogue of content.

I’ve been happy with the Avalon three I got about a year ago. It’s pretty simple, comes with preset power/Hash rate options. The one I have has stopped mining a few times, but a quick unplug and replug got it back on track. I would’ve only known to do that though, if I hadn’t been watching my hashrate. It’s probably the one I would trust the most to give to somebody less technical.

After some preliminary research, it would need to use many C bindings to run in a usable state, so it would essentially just be python orchestrating the same C libraries used in Core, but I’ll look into it more this weekend. Might be slower and less secure, but I’d benefit from the process to learn and Python is much more high level, so it could be a great intro into how the node works for anyone - even if it’s not the fastest or more secure implementation.
