Our gallery's special exhibit this month is a photo show, so I entered two. This is the first time I'm showing my photos since early '80s when I was in photography club in college. And someone bought this! The very first time I've ever sold a photo, and it's ironic because I haven't sold any paintings this year.

This is the final week of my solo show "High Desert Colors" at Northwest Reno Library. It went really quick! If you are local, please stop by before it closes at the end of the 23rd.

I was trying to recreate "Wind Speaks" I painted two years ago, because I sold it before I could take a reproduction photo and I miss it. Of course it never turns out as well as the original piece. Also the format is not right... I need a square paper. Work harder!

1st of two plein air paintings I did back in 2022 at Air Sailing Gliderport in Reno, NV. Did very little in studio to finish it. I really love this wide angle format, despite the negative critique from my mentor; he thinks that it loses the focus, and I agree on that point. But the 360 deg mountains cannot be contained in 9x12!

I was at Hope Valley near the Cal-Nevada border in August for a plein air. It was a beautiful day, very quiet, and the sound of the dry grasses rustling in the breeze was truly soothing. It was early August, but there were still some snow left on higher mountains. This was painted in studio, based on the photo I took there.

I painted this in 2021, hang on the wall for a while and then put it away. I took it to the holiday faire yesterday and was sold!
The faire was fun; I sold this, one small print and three cards; it's a small sales but I gave out invites for my upcoming show, and spent a day with fellow artists, sharing insights and information. Well worth the effort.
