What a sublime pair of E.P.s, & the perfect choice for last spin.
After the week I had, Elizabeth Fraser’s voice is just what the doctor ordered before I sleep long and hard.
This pressing is phenomenal. All of the ‘85 pressings (both together and separate) are FAR superior to the remastered reissue from a decade ago.

Tuesday morning coming down.
Sometimes, you just need “I Talk To The Wind” with your pancakes.
One of the most timeless albums in history. I don’t picture a time or place in this world where I’m ever sick of hearing it.
It’s a true masterpiece in every sense and I’m not sure how it’s possible that it keeps sounding BETTER as it ages.

+ 7” single
Forever my favorite Nine Inch Nails recording. Anything else in the catalog I’d pick would be a VERY distant 2nd.
This reissue sounds MONSTROUS, & the best thing about it is they included what were tracks 98 & 99 on the CD on a separate 7” single. One of them, a cover of Adam Ant’s “Physical”, is the ONLY version of that song.
Just a pummeling, noisy, 30 minute masterpiece.

OGs of this are insanely expensive & overpriced, so I didn’t mind picking this up, even if it sounds a bit thin.
The original isn’t the most hi-fi recording to begin with, so it’s ok.
A wonderful #psychedelic recording from California via 1976. It’s definitely not worth $1500-$2000 for an OG press, but this reissue is worth the $20 inn be paid for it.

Well, since we spun Bossanova yesterday, & @nprofile…7l5c and @nprofile…qtvu got me all geeked up for it, I’m starting the morning with THIS.
One of the Columbia House “16 Tapes For A Penny” hauls I got as a kid included this. I just needed to pick 4 more, so I threw a dart at a few things.
It was the 1st Pixies I heard, & still my fave.

PIXIES

When people rank the Pixies 1.0 albums, the 2 that REGULARLY appear on the bottom are my 2 favorites.
I’m in the minority here, but both this AND Trompe Le Monde are incredible albums, & STILL the 2 I listen to the most.
This has 2 of my all time Pixies songs on it; “Dig For Fire” & “Is She Weird”, songs that showed up on many mixes I’d made for friends.
For the record, the last 11 years of The Pixies have been dismal.

To me, this is still the best sounding #vinyl version of this that exists, & it’s one of those records that I have an unnecessary amount of versions of. This is the only one that I ACTUALLY need to own.
I will never forget the utter shock and astonishment I felt after hearing this for the first time at a listening party at Q Division Studios in Boston.

Milo must either really dig or really hate Black Sabbath, because he rarely comes in here. But every time I put THIS record on (none of their others), he comes in, plops right down, & just kinda stares at me. It’s the weirdest fucking thing. 😂
I needed a good playing copy of this until I can replace my OG UK press of this, which is sounding pretty beat up.
A very satisfying press, indeed.
