@npub1e9n…80jt @npub1lh5…n08y I have a large family, and a crappy ISP, so I use what works to solve the problem :)
I've not checked out LORA but I'll have to look that up for fun. Ubiquiti has definitely had some missteps of late, but I'm still generally satisfied with their products for a SOHO use case.

@npub1e9n…80jt @npub1lh5…n08y I use a Raspberry Pi3 with PiHole installed as a DNS server for the network. That's where I can fully control filtering. I have that forward requests to CloudFlair DNS for families (1.1.1.3) to filter what isn't in the pihole's blocklists or blacklist.
From a network hardware standpoint... well I AM an IT system designer by trade so consumer gear wasn't good enough :). I run a Unifi Dream Machine Pro as the firewall/router and motely set of Unifi APs and switches.

@npub1e9n…80jt @npub1lh5…n08y I just strait block tick-tock, facebook and instagram on my home network completely. The kids haven't been able to form the addition so they've not bothered to circumvent my controls.
