I finally got a measurement microphone and am going to start messing around with Open Sound Meter (https://opensoundmeter.com/en/) to learn how to EQ speaker systems. Lots of tutorials about it. The microphone I got has the (Rational Acoustics RTA-420 with the Calibration Files) should be good to start with. Ideally, I want one a ISEMcon EMX-7150.....with the SC-1 Calibrator....but they are NEVER in stock, and when they are, by the time I go order one, they are out of stock again. GRRR!

True, but if you are out in a venue to hear how it sounds…..or running a rack unit for your band…..like I do…..this would be a lot easier to use than using a regular laptop and doing it with a mouse……

Ok, I still want one of these. It's a DUAL screen laptop. Not really powerful (Alder Lake-N100....basically chromebook power) windows device......but being able to use MixingStation like this……

I’m sure most dictators say and believe that though. That is the problem. It could very well be true, but we would have to vet it out first, and study if it would actually work.
This is why we have experts. They have been in the field, writing papers or doing research 99.9% of us never hear about, but they have been vetted by their work and education and could weigh in on subjects…unlike the armchair expert who googled something

I think the issue is that everyone thinks they are an expert. The looked something up or did “research” hence the person who has done this thinks they are on the same level as someone who actually spent time scientifically or educationally researched something and is an actual expert.
It’s all over the place, getting worse since COVID.

So, I think I should move it to a hosted site. Anyone have recommendations for hosted Wordpress that could handle like 8 separate sites (so separate wordpress installs)?

Eh, it's fine. A lot of people created accounts when Elon was fucking around last year this time. Now, it seems like people are just weening themselves off social media or have doubled down on things they already use other than Twitter (like Instagram, FB)

Well, sometimes you roll the dice and it comes out snake eyes. In theory everything should have been fine, but.....yeah.
So now I do a weekly dump off of Masto.host of the site, and keep it on my Google Drive.
It was probably a good thing to weed out people who just were not using Mastodon. People now seem more engaged even though there are about 1/10th of the users right now.

I retired a, what seems perfectly fine carbon fiber bike frame cause it had a crack on the frame. Did it have other cracks after 14 years? Perhaps….but the expense of doing the testing on the frame and then the repairs was more than just getting a new frame and fork….and all it takes is just one little crack to start compromising the frame integrity…..I’m not risking crashing on a downhill ride….
