Ok, we're nearly at the end of the year, so it's time to reveal my pick of this year's #GOTYs.
Few criteria here: They can't be replays (otherwise Metar Gear Rising: Revengeance would have a fixed position in the list), and they don't have to be games released in 2024, only games that I have played this year. I haven't listed the games in any particular order, and there will be a few honourable mentions for games I really enjoyed but didn't quite cut it for the final six.
It has been extremely hard to pick only 6 games for 2024, because I have played several outstanding games, and the list could easily be three times as long as it is now.

The PS5 Pro $700 price tag is the logical outcome of years of the gaming industry making graphical specs the main selling point of the hardware. We don't really need games to run at 16K resolution 120 FPS and ultra mega high resolution textures giga max. Honestly, the graphical improvements from PS4 to PS5 are minimal, and the difference between PS5 and PS5 Pro are going to be imperceptible, apart from the buyers' wallets being much lighter.

I was going to give #KitsuneTails a try today for the #VGCSept20204 but then my 7 years old watched me play the first 30 seconds of the first level and she wanted to play it so badly that the only thing I could do was to pass her the Steam Deck and let her enjoy it. She's been at it for almost two hours now, and she's having an amazing time.
It has made me relive that time when I played Mario Bros. for the first time on my NES. She's so into it, working out the platforming and puzzles 🥰

So, this is my first time playing #PlanescapeTorment and I'm playing the Android port on my 12" tablet with stylus. And it works beautifully. I had considered if I should also play the first two Baldur's Gate games on it, and now I'm sold on the idea, I think it is a really good way to play these games.
As for the game itself, it's very interesting although the plot development feels a bit sluggish, and the very limited inventory space is always being a nuisance. But I'm having great fun!

I just ran a little #privacy experiment.
I have Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin, and Ghostery installed in my Firefox, so I decided to access a few sites and see what happened. These are the results.

@npub1qep…hklj The only thing I'm not completely excited about is the fact that the game just finished with a big "To be continued..." but I guess it also has to do with the size of memory in the GBA cartridges.
