@nprofile…73ne Builders' is my favourite store. Every time I go in there (seldom these days) I end up walking out empty handed. Hence my favourite: I never spend any money there.
The last straw was when I was buying a bunch of building materials, and they wouldn't deliver (at quite eye-watering cost!) unless I got their loyalty card. Needless to say I walked out without spending any money.
Fucking useless store!

@nprofile…x759 I've been using Freemind for ages. Java app, works just fine on Linux. It's not the greatest or slickest software ever, but the best I've seen of a pretty dismal bunch.

@nprofile…73ne re "if you're networked": Yes, that's the "necessary", along with other genuine bugs, the occasional feature/enhancement. But most of the "upgrades" that get pushed on us...? They're rubbish! Explain to me why my year-old phone is so fucking slow.

The truth is... I *never* want to upgrade my operating system or any applications. Never. I understand that it's occasionally *necessary*, but this relentless treadmill that it's become in the name of novelty, in the name of "keeping our brand uppermost in users' minds"... it's all horseshit. How did we get to this awful place?

I'm thinking it might be useful as a neighbourhood ad thing (thus keeping all the "for sale" crap off the local WhatsApp group). But then... I fail to see the use-case for the federation aspect of it? 🤔 (Or am I just having stupid-brain day?)
