Capitalism demands that some suffer while others succeed. Currently the former includes much of humanity while the latter continue to do nothing to stop the creation of a Venus-like atmosphere.
Capitalists like to believe that they have mullified the working class, but when material conditions deteriorate enough even those within the comfort of the imperial core will see a toppling of the system as the only rational choice.

In order to maximise profit, capitalists must encourage consumption. This consumption must be in competition with other workers. Which is why the capitalist dispises mutual aid and community organisations.
For the capitalist, sharing is anathema to profit and must be combated, lest the working class realise we are mules moving capital from one member of the ruling class to another.

The thing that has the most freedom in the world is capital. It can go anywhere it wants without visas. It can stay where it likes. It can be traded from person to person with little issue. It can be used to influence governments. It can be used to maintain power over others. It can be used to dominate.

The idea that we have to choose between state-power and business-power over ourselves is a false dichotomy.
Giving either side any power merely cements the already extant structure. Any changes in representatives or leaders of businesses is merely a changing of the guard. If we truly want better lives for everyone we would aim for a bottom-up structure of society.
