@npub12yv…lupm Sounds a lot like the base system resolution roll of Cypher. Except its 3. So a level 6 task is a roll of 18 or better on a 20. The levels go up to 10. 15 for supers. You determine level before you roll. After everything, if the level is 7 or higher - yeah, its not happening.

but yeah, those are good reasons not to go there.
And summers do get hot, though there are places that are worse. I thought growing up in North Ga with no AC had prepped me for most any high temp/humidity area.
Then I went to New Orleans in August for a week long business trip.....

Heading home! I have stayed in some fairly sketchy hotels, but I draw the line at a 20 unit one where I am the only person staying. And where when I walk in the bathroom and go to adjust the water the sink faucet handle just comes off in my hand, also the cardboard over the window was a bit of a turn off. It makes a good story. #Maine

My wife finally saw her moose in the wild today. She actually saw two different ones, but she had to go all the way up to Jackman Maine for work, which is a 2 1/2 hour drive from our house. It is very far north in Maine. #maine #nature

A lot of fish were being washed back down the fish ladder.

At one point today, I had 4 different spiders crawling on me. I thought 4 different species, but after looking at the pictures, I'm reasonably sure it was 3 species.
I was attempting to spot whatever lives in an underhang in the bank. It goes behind a large boulder... The water is shallow there - less than a foot. I didn't see whatever it was, but I'm 90% sure it got a chipmunk. Not much big enough to do that, which narrows it down. Probably a large snapping turtle. #nature #wildlife

River herring movement upstream coincides with other common signs … of spring. Anyone who is interested in observing herring from inland positions in the Northeast can take note of the blooming of spring shrubs. It is commonly known that the best time to see alewives is when forsythia is in bloom, while the shad move upstream with the blooming of shadbush. Blueback herring move inland a bit later …, and they tend to spawn when lilacs are in bloom.

Two of the best places to see/get pictures of Alewives and the birds that prey on them in Maine are
Damariscotta Mills, and Payson Park in Warren Maine, are close to each other.
Damariscotta Mills fish ladder is "ground central" for photographers with big lens to get action shots of Ospreys and Eagles. Payson is a solid little known public park, that lets you get right down to the water, has playground equipment, and a footbridge over the Georges River.

In South Asia, Mangrove fireflies display on trees, usually river side, and in the bends of rivers (range is a bit less, which helps avoid predators). They will group together, and use the same tree year after year after year. This makes (made) them important points of river Navigation.

During the Alewife fish run in the spring, this is a great place to bird watch. This is the top of the dam and powerhouse structure. You have a nice view of the downstream area which is where the action is of birds catching fish.

Maine has a crazy number of fireflies compared to North Ga. In North GA, they are almost gone - or at least, not anywhere near the abundance of my youth.
Here there are more colors and more types than we ever had back in Georgia. I like this!

You can throw coffee grounds straight on the ground - though that works better in the south, than in Maine. In North Ga, coffee grounds vanish into the ground within a couple of days. In Maine it can be a few weeks. It does wonders for the texture of the soil. (And, Coffee Grounds (from hot brews) are not acidic. The acid goes into the cup. I don't know if that holds true for the grounds from cold brew. They might be different.
