Also: did you notice the iPhone rig being used to shoot The Weeknd video during the last event?
It’s not just casual photographers that need something more capable than a simple case.

As the iPhone becomes more and more like a traditional camera, you have to wonder how long it will be until Apple adds a wrist strap.
@npub1a5u…9xdr started me thinking about this: he’s going to a theme park with a young child and wants the added protection of the phone being attached to the body.
Think about it: would you want to use a Canon R7 with just a padded case instead of a strap?
Even simple point-and-shoots have a way to secure themselves to your body.

Another week, another letter telling me about a “privacy event” (aka data breach).
Here's a simple way to fix this problem: legislation that says every customer who's affected gets a check for $100. No more of this check-your-credit weak sauce - instead, a real cost to the business.
If you have data on 100 million customers, paying out $10 BILLION is a hell of an incentive to keep your fucking data protected.
Or better yet, maybe it's not worth $100 to store it in the first place…

I’m surprised this wasn’t mentioned in the keynote or State of the Union, but Apple’s model training data is either licensed or publicly available on the Internet. No personal information is used.
You can opt out of the web based training here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/119829 (no idea if it’s retroactive - probably not).
Again, this should have been mentioned in the presentations because it’s a good approach and directly relevant for developers.

I want AI to help me figure things out. Not make things up for me.
Apple is clearly looking at the figuring out part - a lot of useful features were presented (albeit with a lot of future tense in the statements). A big plus that it's being done in a private context.
But it's the made up art where everyone (rightly) focuses their attention. Given the huge number of creative people using Apple products, taking away our collective imagination feels like a huge misstep.

Pro Tip: Get in the habit of annotating your tuples. In six months, you're not going to remember which string is which:
`func apiKeys() -> (String?, String?)`
You future self will be happier with:
`func apiKeys() -> (clientId: String?, clientSecret: String?)`
You can even annotate the return values if you have a lot of complex logic before the return:
`return (clientId: “CHOCK”, clientSecret: “NOUNDIES”)`
