What’s the minimum number of entities who’d need to cooperate to maliciously fork the chain?
Last I heard, it was just two mining concerns controlled 51% of your hashrate.
Decentralization can only be maintained in a system when incentives have been carefully balanced. Proof of Work was a good first attempt.

Also there’s this new blockchain I’m pretty excited about. Not in a “next big moon” way, but more like a “improved tactics for advancing the stated goals of Satoshi” way. So we’re gonna want to make sure there’s a way to make that work with a low-cost OSS device, because I want this to be everyman-level accessible technology

@SeedSigner I really like the concept behind this device. Got the OS image running in an old Raspi 3B with the BOM display. It’s chunky but it works ™️
I am not stoked about the stock signer’s dependence on the supply-chain-impossible raspberry pi nano.
Do y’all plan to work on making builds that would work with other control boards, e.g. bananapi nano?

proof of work was the first technical weakness that Apex Creditors were able to leverage, in their smear campaign to delay the inevitable #digitalcash revolution.
Roping a huge amount of sunk-cost development onto the dead-end / Proof of Stake Ethereum has been another extremely effective delay tactic. So many minds, hammering away atop a fatally, fundamentally flawed architecture.

cool, cool. Have you heard how Chia offer files work, to provide perfect trustless transactions even down on layer 1? Or how the coins are self-custodied, same as you do with you BTC stacks?
I’m not promoting XCH as a get-rich-quick coin.
I’m trying to get the word out about a blockchain technology which actually addresses the main weaknesses in Bitcoin’s security model.

ooh, finally, a place to talk #crypto without the angry judgemental folks [elsewhere]
#bitcoin got me excited about digital cash. Its weakness - the whole proof of work consensus thing - has been ruthlessly exploited via classic megacapitalist strategies; shortsighted and destructive.
I still have hope for #digitalCash, I just think the consensus mechanism needs improvement. Or, perhaps better to say: it needs to be made more robust against exploitative behaviors. Centralizing influences are *hard* to counterbalance.
The folks who built #chia are pretty smart. If you haven’t learned about Proof of Space and Time, you might find it worth reading about
