@npub1lsl…9c2x @npub1xzm…eykm Yep. So much of the noise and criticism is rooted in fears that range from unlikely to impossible (like Threads somehow injecting ads into Mastodon feeds).
I’m pretty iffy about server owners who proactively block Threads rather than take the time to learn what federation with it means – namely, that users on either platform can follow and message each other, and that’s really about it.

@npub1lsl…9c2x Hm, odd. It stays in advanced mode for me. (Firefox user here.) Can’t offer any advice other than the usual – clear site cookies/data, maybe even restart your PC (not kidding, I once had a weird bug that only affected my browser, and closing/restarting the browser itself did nothing, yet rebooting Windows fixed it).

I know you’re a big proponent of media outlets and journalists leaving Elmo’s flaming dumpster of a site, so I think it’s another good case study of that happening in real time.

#[0] Out of curiosity, what’s your take on public broadcasters – CBC, BBC, etc. – being given “publicly funded media” labels on Twitter, and their complaints that said labels lump them in with state-run propaganda outlets in China & Russia? Agree, disagree, mixed opinions? Any plans to write about it on Techdirt?
I know what I think about it, but whilst I think I can guess your view, I’m curious to hear it.
