Today the UK government’s new definition of extremism was unveiled: "the promotion or advancement of an ideology based on violence, hatred or intolerance" that aims to "negate or destroy the fundamental rights & freedoms of others" or "undermine, overturn or replace the UK's system of liberal parliamentary democracy & democratic rights".
Groups or individuals that fall foul will be banned from meeting with ministers or other elected officials & from receiving public money.#ukpolitics

I'm filling in a risk assessment form for a trip to the US. The form asks me to specify how I'll travel around my destination. I started ticking the boxes labelled: bus, train, and writing 'walk' in the free-text, but then I remembered this was not a European trip. I just checked how one gets from the nearest airport to the university in question. The answer listed on their website is Uber or Limousine. Uber or Limousine. Jesus fucking Christ.
