Actual question or suggestion maybe
Is there a way you can add chapter art to a specific point in time in the episode, without having it show up as a chapter itself in like a menu. Can this be done in the current format? I think you should be able to do this. Maybe even with then letting a viewer click off of that specific image, to return back to the actual chapter art.
That way you can just show something that doesn't need to be it's own chapter. Or use a boost to chapters thing unannoyingly

@npub1dwu…hc2f I mean, not really though. Because real bitcoin is only what happens on the blockchain. Lightning transactions do not happen on the chain until a channel is closed. So for as long as the channel is not closed, those transactions are not "real".

I tried explaining to someone how value4value works. He got really mad because how dare you use content that you did not pay for. And how the lightning network is not real bitcoin. OK sure lightning is kinda fake bitcoin I agree with that. I don't think that matters though.
And his thoughts on the other tags of the podcast namespace he just said this is pointless and that podcasting has worked fine since forever. And it doesn't need to change. Lol OK.

I don't know where this would be, but if you listen to a podcast with music, is there currently a way for chapters or time splits to tell the app to set the speed to 1x ?
If that does not exist yet, that seems like fairly important.
Because I do listen at 1.75 most of the time. Except when they start playing a song. Because that sounds silly.

@npub1df6…ns3a idunno. i am starting to get annoyed with Umbrel. at least a bit. because now, the machine itself was running completely fine. but anything relating to umbrel was not running when i tried looking at my node, or ipfs podcasting. or anything. I am gonna see if i can fix that but idunno.

@npub1df6…ns3a it is very likely that I will just give up, backup the unbrel folder and just install Leap on it. I haven't used Ubuntu a lot in a while and never before pure debian. Only suse things. And Debian is less fun to me than I thought it would be to try out. If it also crashes on this different system.

@npub1df6…ns3a it's a second generation core i5 chip with 14 gigs of ram. Running Debian 12 on a sata ssd. Very snappy actually. Would be usable for random every day tasks. And while running it seems to do a good job. Snappy.
Although literally right now in in the process of trying to boot it on my old fx8350 cpu with 32 gigs of ram. Overkill but idunno. More horsepower is good.

@npub1df6…ns3a I believe that. But I am having unrelated issues I believe. That machine just locks up after about 20 hours I believe. It just stops. Not responding to ssh, pings, keyboard or mouse input directly either.

@npub1df6…ns3a I have umbrel set up and running. It has helipad on it already. That's what you opened the channel to. I just don't trust that system itself yet.

Do i have to use my own node on umbrel to work for helipad or can I use any other thing?
That's a good reason to get the stability of that machine figured out and have my node running all the time.

So how do we actually prove that a song is original? If I just take something i got from Spotify and put it on the podcastindex as a song, bad things will happen. Same with cover music. wont it?

@npub1ln5…xyw6 That seems inoptimal. Thinking that if someone got a .cue file to VTS thing going, you can easily play 2 things at once in some DJ software. at least for a few seconds. as a transition.
What if the, assuming it is just 2, value splits happened at the same time, and the newer one just got pushed back.
So it's block doesnt start for X seconds until its only that song playing. idunno if that is a player thing or a thing for when creating the splits

@npub1df6…ns3a I am already looking into something like a rode caster duo tho. I have been wanting another mic for a long time. I quickly realised this condenser nt USB mic picks up every single thing ever. I don't like it because of that reason.

@npub1df6…ns3a yes splitkit is pretty good once you figure it out.
But I think one can probably take the cue file that dj software makes and read that, and then automatically create time splits from that. Doesn't actually seem too hard to do. Maybe I could try doing that... maybe.

@npub1df6…ns3a and then for the time splits I put the video from obs into kdenlive and looked where I played what song and then typed it into split kit manually.
I have some actual dj software set up now for next episode and going forward. So I can play and mix things effectively live. Or even stream it. That also creates a file with what song played when.

@npub1df6…ns3a well for the first episode I just used OBS Studio to record a video of nothing and audio of desktop and my mic... and then I literally just had a wavlake firefox window open and vlc with my talkover music folder. Also a pluse audio volume control window because i wanted to turn the songs down... although that reset each time a new song started.
That was it. The most rudimentary thing ever. And in terms of equipment I just have a rode nt USB mic.
I did everything there with the mouse.

Probably uncommon for people my age, but I always liked radio. Not something I can see working at because they all require university degrees in journalism or similar. I don't have that, or think I could even do that.
Probably a topic to talk about in the next show.

Episode 2 is gonna be so much better.
