I now have to face the usual dilemma: try to censor the game hoping to get in the non-adult Steam category, or simply say "fuck it" ™ and submit the game as it is... 🤔for a bigger game like my townsim/RPG I will surely do that, however for a simpler VN not sure it's worth the effort

so you want to be a #visualnovel developer? you'll need to compete with:
- established indies with huge following
- indies who chunk out 5-6 VN (kinetic) a year
- indies who mix VN with all genre (RPG, simulation, management)
- the most saturated genre ever (200 new VN a month)
- bonus point if you think to do this without adult content (either optional or in base game)
just so you know what you're getting into haha. Regardless, good luck! Never give up your dreams.

artists using AI to make art is going to cause you a lot of troubles. Browsing Fiverr, it's common to see such ads. It's not possible that someone makes such good-looking BG asking only 24 eur each! indeed, in the description the seller claims "I use the latest ai technologies in combination with photoshop and illustrator to create the highest quality art for your projects."
Which means if you use this to make your Steam game you're going to face trouble and delays...! #indiedev #gamedev

last month I did some #marketing (banner #advertising) for Loren. Looks like it needs 342 tracked visits to have 7 wishlists and 1 sale. Since I spent about $50, I didn't recoup costs (my game's price is $25 and maybe they bought it on sale 75% off)
I plan to do more tests when An Elven Marriage is out!

@npub1znz…8l64 yes I just tried with 30 backgrounds, mixing some I made with AI and some human, and the tool was 70% accurate... so not sure how they can decide or ask for proofs :/
