I'm not sure this telemetry discussion was the best one inaugurate the new #Fedora Change discussion process. It's been split into 5 topics making it impossible to follow and hiding people's responses, and it's turning my notification inbox into an overflowing dump of conspiracies and hostility.

It's funny that each time RH tries to kill the clones, not only do they get a bunch of bad press, but they also create new sub-communities and new competitors.

@npub14d3…7npp To everyone complaining about the Fedora telemetry proposal, subscription-manager's telemetry is much, much worse. This sends system information, network information, all of the packages you have installed, and more to Red Hat and adds it to your profile whether you want it to or not. The community distros that RH keeps trying to kill don't.

@npub18hd…kf64 CentOS Stream is just the development branch for the next RHEL minor release. It's almost the same and provides a preview of the changes coming down the pipe in the next ~6 months. I don't understand why you'd rather drop support for RH based distributions entirely than test on CentOS Stream. Even so, this does not mean the end of Alma and Rocky:

@npub18hd…kf64 I don't see the problem with testing against CentOS Stream. Also, note that this doesn't equal the end of Rocky Linux and Almalinux. They will adapt.
