The #MastodonForHarris campaign, started by @npub1uqz…sxyt, has raised close to $500,000 within two weeks of being live. It is probably the largest attempt for political organizing on the #Fediverse, and may provide a playbook for other efforts going forward.

Distributed Press ( @distributed@distributed.press ) is drafting a new FEP for #ActivityPub for "Peer-to-peer Identities". The general gist is that objects (such as Actors and content) can link to alternate versions of themselves, which can be hosted elsewhere, such as #IPFS. If the server goes down, data can be served from there instead.

The platform offers custom timelines dedicated to specific teams. People on the #Fediverse can follow the account bots from their instances. Although only a handful of teams exist on CollabFC, the creator states that more will get added very soon.

It may be that this is little more than an extremely unfortunate glitch, but it's really unfortunate timing for #Threads. The thing is, companies like Meta don't have a great history with #Fediverse projects.
