having it user configurable means that they aren't forced to be routed through astral servers. users can spin up their own CORS proxy if they wanted to, to protect their privacy.
but having a default astral CORS proxy is still a good move for 99% of users imo

Getalby only has the option to permanently allow access or ask have it prompt every time.
I like how nos2x gives me the option to allow it for 5 minutes.
