Given my home instance's raison d'être & political intentions, it makes sense to not block Threads out of the gate at instance level (& revisit as needed*). How great wd it be to have a space where sex workers can organize & interact w ppl on Threads but not get kicked off?
This policy may motivate me to do a second main for more academic posting, or cultivate other alts, but I'm ok w this here as the idea is to be broad public infrastructure (unlike many instances)

@npub1mdk…aptk One of my local papers, I often forward links to a household member and local friend. BOTH of them think when opening the link that the stories are paywalled, no matter how many times I tell them they actually aren't. So they never click through and see the stories. Such a waste!

@npub1jt5…qpl2 @npub189n…satx I'm seeing a ton of people here--i.e. pretty damn well informed people--who know that the bridge program exists for uninsured but I did not realize you can invoke it if your insurance isn't fully covering all the costs. (And I'd still want to see how it works in practice...) Anyway, thanks for pointing that out

& I gotta say.. I see far too much complaint that USians don't acknowledge how categories of racial hierarchy & dominance in US history aren't universal; & far too little acknowledgment of how projects & prob's of racial domination are global (even if race is constituted differently in different places & across time)
