it doesn’t surprise me to see @npub1dnd…hzjs have a book with SI prefixes on seconds, but I haven’t read Accelerando and I couldn’t be certain if the Freyaverse or Eschaton books used them.

shit, I’ve only seen kiloseconds, megaseconds, or gigaseconds in a few pieces of fiction: Peter Watts’ The Freeze-Frame Revolution and Aimee Ogden’s Emergent Properties are the ones I recall (both absolutely excellent, by the by).
