Took our pointy gnome to visit the Queanbeyan Palerang Council in Quangers, re our building file for Burra. Been waiting a month for this file, which is apparently not digitised, yet we have a great big sparkly new Council building. Beautiful walk along the shared path from Yarralumla Nursery to the Arboretum for lunch with the cardiac girls. Some very serene watery views across the lake, then Scrivener Dam, and a climb up to the Visitors' Centre for lunch with a view over Canberra. And back. About 9km. Noice!

Non stick? I have a traditional (non- nonstick) wok and after years of use it is black, but has developed its own non stick surface (years of careful management). Highly recommended, as long as you have a gas stove. It means you can use it on high heat, which is ideal. I have no idea what's wrong with yours though, sorry.

2. Got the new pump. Attachments don't match! Gone back into town to look for an adaptor. Poor boy... he has to be somewhere at 5pm, so may have to go back out tonight (IF he gets an adaptor), by which time daughter and son in law will be there, camping with their 4 little sausage dogs. SIL is a sparky and very clever at solving problems like this, so I'm hopeful, but still a bit of a nervous wreck. In the meantime, son and family arriving here tonight, yay... granddaughters!

Real live 'shitshow' at Burra, with the bioturd pump dead in the (actual) water, meaning the tank will overflow (untreated grey water and toilet outflow) around lunchtime sunday. Great timing!
