Sometimes I forget that we are the only ones who are aware of the dangers because if you are just a regular schmo, not terminally online on mastodon and surrounded by others like you, you have very little to no other information - it’s not on the evening news, it’s not something you see on instagram or on billboards or being talked about by colleagues. Mental exercise mapping out life if draconian anti-masking laws pass in BC. I see snorkel masks in my future and even rarer public outings. I wonder if it will be illegal to wear a mask inside a hospital. What about inside operating theatres? What about pest control employees, mold and asbestos removal etc? Yesterday we were living in limbo waiting to hear if Buffy’s carcinoma had spread to her lungs. Fortunately it hasn’t, and now we are talking with the vet about having it removed. She’s old and they are concerned that she might not recover from the anaesthetic but I think we are going to risk it because the idea of letting the tumour eat her alive is abhorrent. I’d rather she went peacefully by not waking up than live on a couple of months, feeling bad, before we have to euthanize her.
